Vote to save the democracy!!!!

Save the Democracy!!!!

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed not better than we deserve- George Bernard Shaw
Day after tomorrow will be an important day for us. We all were bashing the government for the past 5 years or all our lives for that matter!!! The biggest democracy in the world is handing over the chance for us to Elect the candidates we find good. We may have difference of opinion on the School of thought the political parties have or the candidates/ parties we favor; but we should not differ on one thing that; if the democracy has to work we should learn to be responsible citizens. We can not always sit on the fence and criticise leaders to have done nothing for the country. Instead we should realise that by not participating in the democracy we are helping the fools to ruin our lives. If the country is in the state what it is today we are equally responsible for this too. All these years we were too busy criticizing the politicians to vote. We taught our children to behave but never taught them to vote. We taught our children to get education but we never taught them to be Educated. We taught our children to criticize the politicians but we never taught them not to pay the bribe. All these years we were just criticizing others without doing anything by ourselves. Its high time we sat on the fence its time to participate in a noble cause. All it requires is just to take a few minutes; a half kilometers walk and A VOTE!!!! We are all aware of the rights we have as an Indian citizen let's perform our duty also.
The political parties put in a lot of thought while selecting the candidate for the constituencies. We never think   a lot while voting. Following points may be considered while we go on to vote:-
  1. Whether the candidate hails from the city he is contesting?
  2. Whether he has a relatively clean track record?( The use of the word "Relatively" is on purpose for the reasons we all know)
  3. Whether his party has chance of forming the government at the Center? (It is only then he will be able to serve your city in a better way)
  4. Has he or his party updated their Vision document to suit today's need? (Whether their party has a vision in the first place is up for debate) Or they are just giving false promises ever since our grandparents started voting?
  5. His educational background. In my personal view he should have degrees from reputed Universities.
  6. His Religion, Caste. Without any offence if parties put in a thought on the religion and castes of voters I don't think there is anything wrong in we putting a thought into the religion and caste of the candidate.
There may be many more considerations while going for the vote. We should keep an eye on what our candidate is doing or has done for us. We have to start asking questions to the Government. With the emergence of Social Media we can express our views and let the political parties know what we feel. But let's not stop there. Let's get out of our homes and start Voting!!!! Day after tomorrow will provide us with the opportunity to participate in the biggest democratic elections of the world. Let's not waste this opportunity. Let's do something that will make us feel proud to be an Indian Citizen. LET'S VOTE!!!!!!
